HHC Capsules – Pop In for A Good Time
HHC capsules are the perfect way to reap the buzzy benefits of hexahydrocannabinol. HHC is one of the most popular cannabinoids on the market to date, and it’s for good reason! The compound is strikingly similar to THC, but with a little bit less of a kick. This means users of HHC can still enjoy the classic effects and benefits of cannabis’s favorite compound without the incredibly intense potency.
But all HHC products can give you these benefits and effects, so what makes HHC capsules so special? HHC capsules are the easiest, most convenient way to ingest the cannabinoid. No vaping, no chewing, and no dropping—it’s just an easy pill to swallow!
What Are HHC Capsules?
Capsules containing HHC are exactly what they sound like: prefilled, swallowable capsules. What's the advantage of using capsules over other HHC products? The answer is simple. They're easy to use, easy to dose, and extremely discreet. They're consumed orally, like edibles, but without flavoring or chewing.
You can use HHC capsules as part of your daily morning or night routine or on the go, as they are the easiest and most convenient way to consume HHC.
What is HHC?
Hexahydrocannabinol, or HHC, is one of over a hundred cannabinoids discovered in the cannabis plant so far. In essence, HHC is just a hydrogenated version of THC. Scientists saturate hemp-derived THC with hydrogen atoms using high pressures and a catalyst, which breaks THC’s double bond structure and replaces it with hydrogen, stabilizing the compound but leaving its effects virtually unchanged.
Although it may seem like a new compound, HHC was actually discovered by American chemist Roger Adams in the 1940s. In 1944, Adams added hydrogen molecules to delta 9 THC, a process that would come to be known as hydrogenation. Back then, the chemist created HHC from conventional marijuana-derived THC, but these days the cannabinoid is most often derived from hemp.
A close relative of compounds like delta 8 and delta 9, HHC’s psychoactive potency lies somewhere in the middle of these two cannabinoids. It’s about 70% as strong as delta 9, but still stronger than delta 8, meaning it won't get you as high as regular THC but will still be a step up from delta 8’s mild and controllable buzz.
HHC does occur naturally in cannabis plants, but because it only exists in trace amounts, chemists perform a rigorous, many-step process to obtain usable quantities of the cannabinoid. HHC, as many other hemp-derived cannabinoids, starts with CBD. Simply put, the compound is isolated from raw hemp material and then converted into THC, which is then saturated with hydrogen in order to form HHC.
Are HHC Capsules Legal?
HHC capsules are legal according to the Farm Bill of 2018. Also known as the Agriculture Improvement Act, the Farm Bill legalized hemp and hemp derivatives at the federal level, effectively removing hemp from the country’s list of controlled substances and making it legal to citizens across the United States.
That said, some states have taken the steps to heavily restrict or completely ban cannabinoids derived from hemp, so even though it is federally legal, HHC is not legal in all 50 states. Currently, the compound, and therefore capsules containing the compound, is illegal in:
- New York
- North Dakota
Additionally, while not explicitly stated, HHC is also most likely illegal in:
- Rhode Island
Understanding the Different Capsules Available at Diamond
While HHC capsules are a terrific asset to keep close, we offer other types of capsules here at Diamond CBD. A variety of our cannabinoids and compounds actually come in capsule form, so if that’s your preferred method of ingestion, we’ve got good news: you’ve got a wide variety to choose from! But before you make any decisions, it’s important to understand the differences and similarities between the effects of all these capsules.
Here's a chart to help you understand the effects and benefits of each type of capsule we offer:
Effects of the Compound
The type of capsule you choose will depend entirely on the range of properties you want to gain. Additionally, another important thing to look out for is whether or not these compounds are psychoactive. THCO, for example, is much stronger than delta 9 or HHC, while other ingredients on this list aren’t psychoactive at all.
How to Take HHC Capsules
HHC capsules are as easy to take as any other capsule. In order to take these products, just grab a capsule from the packaging and swallow it as you would any other pill. Make sure you follow the instructions on the packaging and don't take more than the recommended dose. Drinking some water won't hurt, either!
As opposed to gummies or vapes, HHC capsules cannot just be cut in half or taken in smaller quantities than they are supposed to. In order to decipher how much to take and how different dosages of HHC will affect you, be sure to understand your body’s tolerance levels.
As dosing varies based on factors such as age, weight, metabolism rate, and desired effects, we recommend different dosages based on tiers of experience:
- Beginners: 5-12mg
- Intermediate: 12-30mg
- Pro: 30-60mg+
Benefits of HHC Capsules
In and of themselves, HHC capsules have many benefits. First of all, no one will question you popping a capsule because they look like any other health supplement, and their small and unassuming container means you can take them virtually anywhere without a second thought. Second, they're extremely easy and convenient to use, meaning you get to get buzzed without having to work for it. They're also easy to dose because you know exactly how much HHC is in each capsule, reducing the chance of overconsumption.
HHC is the perfect cannabinoid for balancing your buzz. It is stronger than delta 8 and weaker than delta 9. As an analog of THC, HHC shares most, if not all, of delta 9's benefits. This means that, apart from a moderately strong high, HHC also offers benefits such as:
- Pain management
- Anxiety relief
- Appetite stimulation
- Improved sleep
Are HHC Capsules Safe?
Since HHC has only been rediscovered recently and is now derived from hemp, there hasn't been enough research conducted to determine its exact parameters. Although the safety profile of HHC isn't very rich, there haven't been any reports of any adverse effects, overdoses, or death related to it.
Because HHC is close to delta 8 and delta 9, researchers speculate that its benefits and side effects are similar to those of the two compounds. Like its cousins, HHC can cause some not-so-desirable side effects, including:
- Dry mouth
- Red eyes
Additionally, the FDA does not monitor hemp-derived cannabinoids, so it's up to individual companies to set safety standards for hemp-derived cannabinoids. This means that the most important step to ensuring your products are clean and safe is choosing the right cannabinoid retailer.
All Diamond products are safe, pure, and effective. Our manufacturing process adheres to the highest standards, free of harmful additives, carcinogens, and other chemicals. Besides being made from organic, American-grown, and pesticide and herbicide free hemp, our cannabinoids are carefully and precisely extracted by scientists committed to their safety. A third-party lab test is conducted on all of our products to ensure that only the safest products reach the shelves. Our lab tests are also available online for your inspection.
