THCV Products – The Clear-Minded Cannabinoids
THCV products are the perfect supplement to any dietary regime! This rare, elusive cannabinoid has charmed scientists and researchers with its beneficial properties and unique nature since it was first discovered.
What Is THCV?
THCV, or tetrahydrocannabivarin, is a naturally occurring compound found in cannabis with completely unique benefits and effects. THCV is a less common cannabinoid primarily found in African sativa, unlike THC and CBD. This fascinating compound has baffled the cannabis community since its discovery and remains a focus of studies seeking to discover its full potential.
As its name suggests, THCV and THC have similar molecular structures—only differentiated by two carbon atoms— but THCV isn’t really psychoactive like THC. While THC is highly psychoactive, THCV is estimated to be about 25% as potent. Outside of molecular structure, THC and THCV aren’t too similar.
As a matter of fact, a significant difference between THCV and psychoactive cannabinoids containing THC is their influence on appetite. While THC is known for the infamous “munchies,” a spike in appetite resulting in food cravings, THCV does the exact opposite!
According to some preliminary studies, some properties of THCV include:
- Appetite suppressant
- Increasing satiety
- Semi-psychoactive
- Metabolism regulation
- Anxiety management
Do THCV Products Help You Lose Weight?
THCV’s claim to fame is its reputation as a weight loss agent. Because its properties include appetite suppression, metabolism regulation, and increasing satiety, it can be a helpful remedy for weight loss or weight management.
Nicknamed “diet weed,” THCV is theorized to block the CB1 receptor, which is known to stimulate appetite. Users who indulge in THCV report feeling clear-headed without any cravings for snacks or sweets.
THCV can be a great tool in any weight loss journey, but it alone cannot guarantee health and moderation. THCV products will help you put off that extra weight by suppressing your cravings, but only a healthy diet and regular exercise will ensure you stay healthy.
THCV Products vs. Other Cannabinoids
THCV products are very clearly unlike all our other cannabinoids, but what makes them different from compounds like CBD, delta 8, HHC, and THCO?
CBD
CBD is similar to THCV because they’re both used as supplements for health and wellness. Additionally, they’re both excellent for anxiety management. While CBD is completely non-psychoactive and THCV does contain psychoactive properties, it doesn’t get you “high” unless you ingest it in large amounts. And we mean monster amounts. So, you could expect the clear-mindedness of CBD when taking THCV!
The properties of CBD include:
- Stress management
- Anxiety management
- Pain management
- Improved sleep
Delta 8
Delta 8 and THCV are both great for anxiety management in their own ways. That said, delta 8 interacts with appetite in the complete opposite way than THCV. Rather than suppress appetite, delta 8 stimulates it—in other words, delta 8 will give you a big buzz and even bigger munchies.
Some of delta 8’s properties include:
- Relaxation
- Anxiety management
- Feelings of euphoria
- Appetite stimulation
- Better sleep
- Mild to moderate psychoactive experience
HHC
HHC and THCV are two of the most dissimilar compounds at Diamond CBD. Like delta 8, HHC stimulates appetite while THCV suppresses it. Additionally, HHC has a slightly stronger psychoactive potency than delta 8.
Some effects of HHC include:
- Pain management
- Relaxation
- Appetite stimulation
- Moderate high
THCO
Perhaps the two most different cannabinoids we sell, THCO and THCV don’t share any major properties. Like other psychotropic compounds, THCO stimulates the appetite and gives you the munchies, while THCV does the opposite. Additionally, THCO’s potency makes it the strongest cannabinoid we sell, with a capacity to induce psychedelic effects such as hallucinations.
While its potency definitely makes THCO a worthwhile cannabinoid, it also has other benefits, including:
- Pain management
- Relaxation
- Appetite stimulation
- Psychedelic effects
Are THCV Products Safe?
Absolutely!
Although there is still much to learn about THCV, researchers infer that THCV’s safety profile is not too different from other cannabinoids. No major side effects (or deaths, for that matter) have been reported in users consuming THCV.
One of the most important steps to ensure safety when consuming cannabinoids is trusting who you buy them from.
As long as you source your cannabinoids from a reputable source, all hemp-derived products are safe to consume—including THCV!
Because the FDA does not monitor or regulate the distribution of hemp-derived cannabinoids, independent manufacturers set their own safety and quality standards. This is why finding a trustworthy, responsible distributor is an essential step in a safe and positive cannabinoid experience.
Here at Diamond CBD, we take this responsibility very seriously. All of our products are made with safety, quality, and purity in mind and are later third-party lab tested to ensure we meet all of our own rigorous standards. Our lab tests are transparently available on our website for your peace of mind and our accountability.
As long as you buy THCV from Diamond, your safety and satisfaction are guaranteed!
Are THCV Products Legal?
Following the passing of the Farm Bill in 2018, hemp and all of its compounds and derivates became legalized. This means that any compound derived from hemp is currently federally legal in the United States, including THCV!
That being said, state laws may vary, although a vast majority of states agree with the federal consensus regarding hemp products. At this time, THCV is fully legal in 37 states and illegal in 13 states: Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Idaho, Iowa, Mississippi, Montana, New York, Rhode Island, Utah, and Vermont.
