THCA, or tetrahydrocannabinolic acid, turns into THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, during a process called decarboxylation. This process entails heating up THCA, whether by lighting it, vaping it, or baking it. During decarboxylation, THCA loses a carbon atom from its chain, effectively transforming this acid into the cannabinoid THC. 

Yes, THCA flower is considered safe as long as it’s sourced from a reputable, transparent manufacturer. Before using THCA products, including flower, be sure to check for lab reports.
